Join Me at the Animal Image Makers Conference!

So excited to be speaking at this year’s Animal Image Makers Conference which is being held in Minnesota from April 16-April 19, 2020. I will be speaking on Studio Bird Photography; a subject near and dear to my heart.

You can learn all about the conference and the amazing speaker line-up and sign up! Click here!

Photographing birds in a studio is exciting and the imagery captured is stunning! This seminar will help you fast track the development of your own bird photography skills in a safe and creative way. Specific topics include:

– An overview of my personal journey from photographing sitting birds to hosting gallery exhibitions of photographs of birds in flight.

– Information about the bird market

– How to prepare your studio to safely photograph birds

– Client/bird preparation and seasonal considerations

– The process

– Post Processing

And I am thrilled that my all time favorite print Lab, Bay Photo, will be attending the trade show and providing some amazing prizes to those attending my session! All my images at a gallery show I held last year in Orinda were printed by Bay Photo on beautiful Fuji Pearl Paper. That paper almost makes the feathers look luminescent!

I hope you can join me!

‘Hug Tails – Portraits of Therapy Pets’ is Available Now!

Check out Hug Tails at the Orinda Bookstore!

My new book, which is a fundraiser for Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, is available at the Orinda Bookstore. It is also available on Amazon here. This book features over 100 of the ARF Pet Hug Pack at work and in my studio. My own dogs are included – this was truly a labor of love!

Hug Tails was recently awarded the Silver Medal in The Living Now Book Awards. Launched in August of 2008 by IndependentPublisher.com and Jenkins Group, the Living Now Book Awards “celebrate the innovation and creativity of newly published books that can help us improve the quality of our lives, from cooking and entertaining to fitness and travel. Each year, “books for better living” are chosen for their unique ability to enrich readers’ lives and promote global sustainability. The Living Now Awards medalists are an exceptionally impressive list of inspiring books, a testament to the dedication of authors and publishers today.”

We had a fun book reading recently which was covered by the Orinda News! Lots of Pet Hug Pack members were in attendance which made it extra fun for all. The Orinda Bookstore generously donated 20% of the proceeds from Hug Tails that day.
