2018 – New Beginnings and New Website

2018 marks the launch of a new website. As my last one was built in 2012, it was time! But a lot more exciting things are in the works!  Two books are in production:  ‘Hug Tails: Portraits of Therapy Pets’ and ‘Flight.’  ‘Hug Tails’ is truly a work of love for me.  I have photographed almost 120 therapy teams at work and in my studio.  This book captures the emotional connections these pets establish so quickly with people!  ‘Flight‘ is a photography book displaying the wonder of birds in flight.  This has been so much fun as these birds are flying in my studio.  Lots more to come on those two projects.

My own work is going through a metamorphosis as well as I am emphasizing more fine art work that required that I significantly develop my art skills! Surely is testing my right brain!   But this allows my clients to display my work as art on their walls.  I had much success in this area in 2017 and my work was featured in a number of Fine Art Magazines. Project 52 – Vintage

It is Project 52 time again!  This week I have joined up with other pet photographers from the Beautiful Beasties Network  to collectively challenge ourselves with a weekly assignment.   This week’s assignment is ‘vintage’ or incorporating something old in our images or changing the look of our images in post processing to look vintage!  No Jack and Julie this week as I am in vacation in the Berkshire Mountains.  But I was able to spend some time photographing  beautiful miniature donkeys and horses at lovely Cloverdale Miniatures Farm.  They seemed the perfect subjects and setting for a vintage look as I can just imagine this wonderful farm looking much like this many years ago!

Find out how other pet photographers around the world interpreted this fun theme by clicking on the links at the bottom of each post until you end up back here!  First up is   Victoria BC’s Unleashed! pet portraits by melissa mccabe!  Have fun on your trip back in time!

“The Inside of a Horse is Good for the Outside of a Man” – Winston Churchill…..PPA sponsored Horse Photography Workshop

Horses are such beautiful creatures!  How often though do you have the opportunity to photograph 7 of them in a lovely setting all in one day? Professional Photographers of America sponsored a horse photography workshop under the wonderful tutelage of photographer Ann Gordon.  Here are a few images from the day!
